On January 21 total reserve bank credit amounted to $1,020,000,000, a decrease of $91,000,000 for the week. This decrease corresponds with decreases of $56,000,000 in money in circulation and $23,000,000 in member^"bahk^reserve balances and increases of $6,000,000 in monetary gold stock and ^b,000,000 in Treasury currency. Holdings of discounted bills decreased $8,000,000 at the x. ederal Reseive Bank of Few York, $3,000,000 at Chicago and $13,000,000 at all^Federal reserve banks during the week. The System's holdings of bills bought in open market declined $44,000,000, of U. S. bonds and Treasury notes $8,000,000 each, and of Treasury certificates and bills $2,000,000.
