October l6, 194-1 CONDITION OF THE FEDERAL R ¡¿¡SERVE BANKS Luring the week ended October 15 member bank reserve balances increased 131 ,000,000. Additions to member bank reserves arose from decreases of 1^5,000,000 in Treasury deposits with Federal Reserve Banks and $19,000,000 in Treasury cash and increases of $148,000,000 in Reserve Bank credit, $6,000,000 in gold stock and ^4,000,000 in Treasury currency, offset in part by increases of |I|.6,000,000 in money in circulation and 9!^,000,000 in nonmember deposits and other Federal Reserve accounts. Excess reserves of member banks on October 15 were estimated to be approximately $5,230,000,000, an increase of $20,000,000 for the week.
