May 11, !*!* CONDITION OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANKS During the week ended May 10, member bank reserve balances increased $39,000,000. Additions to member bank reserves arose from an increase of $5,000,000 in Treasury currency and decreases of $15,000,000 in Treasury deposits with Federal Reserve Banks and $ll*8,000,000 in nonmember deposits and other Federal Reserve accounts,' offset in part by a decrease of $17,000,000 in Reserve Bank credit and an increase of $111,000,000 in money in circulation. Excess reserves of member banks on May 10 were estimated to be approximately $800,000,000. There was a decrease of $1*3 »000,000-in holdings of United States Government securities; bills decreased $62,000,000 and certificates increased $19,000,000.
