February 8, 191*5 CONDITION OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANKS During the week ended February 7, member bank reserve balances increased $66,000,000. Additions to member bank reserves arose from an increase of $151,000,000 in Reserve Bank credit and a decrease of $55*000,000 in Treasury deposits with Federal Reserve Banks, offset in part by a decrease of $2,000,000 in gold stock and increases of $12.1,000,000 in money in circulation, $2,000,000 in Treasury cash and $16,000,000 in nonmember deposits and other Federal Reserve accounts. Excess reserves of member banks on February 7 were estimated to be 'approjtiiatitely $900,000,000. Holdings of loans, discounts and advances increased $21;,000,000 and of United States Government securities $56,000,000. The increase in holdings of United States Government securities resulted from increases of $58,000,000 in bills and $30,000,000 in certificat-s and decreases of $9,000,000 in bonds and $5,000,000 in notes.
