June 7,19^5 CONDITION OF THE FEDER.iL RESERVE BANKS During the week ended June 6, member bank reserve balances increased $81,000,000. Additions to member bank reserves arose from an increase of $4,000,000 in Treasury currency and-decreases of $74*000,000 in Treasury deposits with Federal Reserve Banks''and $69,000,000 ' ift rionmember deposits and other Federal Reserve accounts, offset in part by decreases of $51,000,000 in Reserve Bank credit ai}d $2,000,000 in gold stock and an increase of $13,000,000 in money in circulation* Excess .reserves of member banks on June 6 were estimated to'be approximately $1,180,000,000. Holdings of loans, discounts and advances increased $26,000,000 while holdings of United States Government securities decreased $127,000,000*. The decrease in holdings of United States Government securities reflects decreases of $327,000,000 in bills, $439»000,000 in certificates and $3,000,000 in bonds, and an increase of $642,000,000' in 'notds.
