June 23, 1945 CONDITION OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANKS During the week ended June 27 member bank reserve balances decreased $594,000,000. Reductions in member bank reserves arose from decreases of $76,000,000 in Reserve Bank credit and $2,000,000 in gold stock and increases of $340,000,000 in Treasury deposits with Federal Reserve Banks, $92,000,000 in money in circulation, $17,,000,000 in Treasury cash and $66,000,000 in nonmeftber deposits and other Federal Reserve accounts. Excess reserves of member banks on June 27 were estimated tolibe approximately $1,300,000,000, Holdings of loans-, discounts'and advances decreased'$104,000,000, while holdings of United States Government securities -increased $136,000,000. The increase in holdings of United States Government securities reflects an incrqase of $100,000,000 in bills and $36,000,000 in' certificates.
