THE PRESS Released for publication Friday morning, July 20; of the Federal Reserve System not earlier, July 19, I9k5 CONDITION OF THE FEDERAL RESE'RVE BANKS During the week ended July 18, member bank reserve balances increased $90,000,000, Additions to member bank reserves arose from an increase of $lif2,000,000 in Reserve Bank-credit, and. decreases of $6?,000,000 in nonmember deposits and other Federal Reserve accounts and $31,000#000 in money in circulation, offset in part by increases of $105#00.0,000 in Treasury deposits with Federal Reserve Bunks and $14+»000,000 in Treasury cash. Excess reserves of member banks on July 18 were estimated to be approximately $1,230,000,000, Holdings of loans, discounts and advances increased ^53»000,000 and of United States Government securities $69,000,000. The increase? in holuings of United States Government securities reflects an increase of $80,000,000 in bills and a decrease of $11,000,000 in certificates.
