July 26, 1>45 CONDITION OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANKS During the week ended July 259 member bank reserve balances increased $39,000,000. Additions to member bank reserves resulted from decreases of $96,000,000 in Treasury deposits with Federal Reserve Banks and 51]+,000,000 in nonmember deposits and other Federal Reserve accounts, offset in part by increases of $25*000,000 in money in circulation and $5*000,000 in Treasury cash and a decrease of $41,000,000 in* Reserve Bank cjre4it# Excess reserves of member banks on July 25 were estimated to bo approximately $1,150,000,000. Holdings of loans, discounts., and advances increased $104,000,000 while holdings of United States Government securities decreased $43>000,000, The decrease in holdings of*United States Government securities reflects a decrease of $78,000,000 in bills and increases o f'$33»000,000 in certificates and $1,000,000 in notes.
