Additi6ns to member bank reserves arose from an increase of $621,000,000 in Reserve Bank credit and a decrease of $3,000,000 in Treasury cash, offset in part by , increases of $319,000,000 in Treasury deposits with Federal Reserve Banks, $lj.l,000,000 in money in circulation and $5,000,000 in nonmember deposits and other Federal Reserve accounts. Excess reserves of member banks on November 1 ¡1 were estimated tq be- approximately $1,250,000,000. Holdings of loans, discounts and advances increased $88,000,000 and of United States Government securities ,$372,000,000« The increase in holdings of United States Gover nment securities reflects increases of $291,000,000 in b ills and $i|0,000,000 each in certificates and notes.
