December 6, I9U5 CONDITION OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANKS During the week ended December'5, member bank reserve ‘balances decreased $19,000,000* Reductions in member bank reserves resulted from decreases of $535,000,000 in Reserve Bank credit and $2,000,000 in gold stock and an increase of $110,000,000 in money in circulation, offset in part by decreases of ; $51*9,000,000- in Treasury deposits with Federal Reserve Banks, $2Y,000,000> in Treasury cash and $14.5,000,000 in nonmember deposits and other Federal Reserve accounts and an increase of $6,000,000 in Treasury currency. Excess reserves of member banks on December 5 were estimated to be approximately $1,750,000,000* Holdings of loans, discounts and advances decreased $hb7>000,000 and of United States Government securities.$121,000,000* 'Certificates of indebtedness increased $593*000,000, of which $318,000,000 was due to the issuance to the Federal Reserve Banks of a special series certificate and notes increased $56,000,000, while bills decreased $7^6,000,000 arid bonds $¿3,000,000* Changes in member bank reserve balances and related items during the week and the year ended December 5, 19^5* were as fellows?
