February 1)4, I9U6 CONDITION OF'THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANK'S During the week ended February 13, member bank reserve balances decreased $24,000,000. Reductions in member bank reserves resulted from increases of $148,000,000-in treasury deposits with Federal Reserve Banks and $38,000,000 in money in circulation, offset in part by increases of $93,000,000 in Reserve Bank credit and $11,000,000 in Treasury currency and decreases of $5,000,000 in Treasury cash and $53,000,000 in nonmember deposits and other Federal Reserve accounts. Excoss, reserves of member banks on February 13 were estimated to be approximately fcl,240,000,000. Holdings of loans, discounts and advances increased $122,000,000 and of United States Government securities $26,000,000. The increase in holdings of United States Government securities reflects an increase of $125,000,000 in bills and decreases of $97,000,000 in certificates and $3,000,000 in notes.
