February 2?, I9I46 •CONDITION OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANKS During the week ended February 27 member bank reserve-balances incr.ease^d $65,000,000. Additions to member bank reserves arose from decreases of. $11]*,000,000 in Treasury deposits with Federal Reserve Banks, $3.1,000,000 in nonmember 'deposits and other Federal Reserve accounts and $17*000,000 in money in cir­ culation and an increase of $13,000,000'in Treasury currency,offset in part by a decrease of $110,000,000 in Reserve Bank credit. -Excess reserves of member banks on February 27'Wero estimated to be approximately $1,11*0,000,000. Holdings ef loans, discounts and advances increased $23,000,000 while hold­ ings of United States Government securities decreased $1*5,000,000. The decrease in holdings of United States Government securities reflects' an Increase of $9,000,000 in b ills and decreases of $1*8,000,000 in certificates and $6,000,000 in notes.
