Llarch ll+, I9I+6 CONDITION ■■OF'THE- FEDERAL RESERVE BANKS During the week ended March 13 member bank reserve balances increases $219,000,000, Additions to member bank reserves arose from increases of $126,000,000 in Reserve Bank crodit and $5,000,000 in Treasury currency and de­ creases of $11,000,000 in money in circulation, $21+, 000,000 in Treasury cash and $111,000,000 in Treasury deposits with Federal keserve Banks, offset in part by an increase of $56,000,000 in nonmember deposits and other Federal Reserve account's. Excess reserves of member banks on karch 13 were estimated to be approximately >1,120,000,000. Holdings of loans, discounts and advances increased $268,000,000 while hold* ings of United States Government securities decreased $133,000,000» The decrease in holdings' of United States Government securities reflects a decrease of $289,000,000 in certificates and an increase of $156,000,000 in b ills.
