April !*, 1946 CONDITION OF TBS FEDERAL RESERVE BANKS Member bank reserve balances on April 3 were practically the same as on Wednesday of the preceding week. Reductions in member bank reserves resulting from decreases of $1,027,000,000 in Reserve Bank credit and $2,000,000 in gold stock and an increase of $70,000,000 in money.in circulation were offset by decreases of $864,000,000 in' Treasury deposits with Federal Reserve Banks, $203,000,000 in nonmember deposits and other Federal Reserve accounts and $27,000,000 in Treasury cash and an increase of $7,000,000 in Treasury currency. Excess reserves of member banks on April 3 were estimated to be approximately $1,010,000,000. Holdings of loans, discounts and advances increased $4,000,000 while holdings of United States Government securities decreased $1,005,000,000. The decrease in holdings of United Status Government securities reflects decreases of $515,000,000 in bills and $516,000,000.in certificates.and an increase of $26,000,000 in notes, 'Changes in member bank reserve balances and related items during the week and the year ended April 3, 1?U^, were as follows» Increase or decrease since April 3,?
