Additions to member bank reserves arose from decreases of $327,000,000 in Treasury deposits with Federal Reserve Banks and $19,000,000 in nonmember deposits and other Federal Reserve accounts, and an increase of $ii,000,000 in gold stock, offset in part by increases of $130,000,000 in money in circulation and $7,000,000 in Treasury cash, and a decrease of $91,000,000'in ; Reserve Bank credit. Ex-cess reserves of member banks on September ,k were estimated to be approximately $814.0,000,000, Holdings of loans, discounts and advances increased $75*000,000 while holdings of United States Government securities.decreased $219,000,000* The de crease in holdings of United States Government securities reflects a decrease of $[[68,000,000 in certificates and'an increase of $21+9,000,000 in bills.
