BOARD OF' GOVERNORS OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE SYSTEM (Released for Publication Friday morning, November 15; not earlier) K.U.I November lij., I9U6 CONDITION OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANKS During the week ended November 13 member bank reserve balances increased $199,000,000* . Additions to member bank reserves arose from increases of ' $ii56,000,OpO in Reserve Bank credit and $15,000,000 in gold stock, offset in part by increases of $169,000,000 in Treasury deposits with Federal Reserve' Banks, $77*000,000 in nonmember deposits and other Federal Reserve accounts, $18,000,000 in Treasury cash, and $11,000,000 in money in circulation. Excess reserves of member banks on November 1$ were estimated to be approximately $020,000,000. Holdings of loans, discounts and" advances increased' $21,000,000 and of United States Government securities $169,000,000* -The increase in holdings of United States Government securities reflects increases of $108,000,000' in certificates and $3i|,000,000 in. notee '-nd a: decrease of $23,000,000 in bills.
