Additions to member bank reserves arose from an increase of $211,000,000 in Reserve Bank'credit and decreases of $18,000,000 in Treasury cash, $53*000,000 in Treasury deposits with Federal Reserve Banks and $iil,000,000 in rionmember denosits and other Federal Reserve accounts, offset in part by an increase of $lj0,00Q,00Q*iii money in circulation and.a decrease of $27,000,000 in gold stock. Excess reserves of member banks on December 11 were estimated to be approximately $930,000,000. Holdings of loans, discounts and advances increased $lji.j.,000,000 and of United. States Government securities $2)40,000,000. The -increase in holdings of United States Government securities reflects increases of $138,000,000 in bills and $5&,000,000 in certificates.
