BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF THE FEDERAL RESER^TE SYSTEM H.JLwl (For Immediate Release) June 30, I9I+9 CONDITION OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANKS During the week ended June 29 member bank reserve balances decreased $301,000,000, Reductions in member bank reserves resulted from a decrease of $238,000,000 in Reserve Bank credit and increases of $81,000,000 in money in circulation, $20,000,000 in Treasury cash, and $20,000,000 in nonmember deposits and other Federal Reserve accounts, offset in part by an increase of $1+5,000,000 in gold stock and a decrease of $11,000,000 in Treasury deposits with Federal Reserve Banks Excess reserves of member banks on June 29 were estimated to be # approximately $61+0,000,000, Holdings of loans, discounts and advances decreased $520,000,000, while holdings of United States Government securities increased $351*000,000. The increase in holdings of United States Government securities reflects increases of •$1+88,000,000 in bills and $15,000,000 in certificates and a decrease of $15 2,000,000 in bonds.
