BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE SYSTEM E.U.I (For Immediate Release) June 15, 1950 CONDITION OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANKS During the week ended June ll*. member bank reserve balances increased $2lj2 million# Additions to member bank reserves resulted from an increase of $12? million in Reserve Bank credit and decreases of $153 million in Treasury deposits with Federal Reserve Banks, $86 million in money in circulation, and $5 million in Treasury cash holdings., offset in part by an increase of $128 million in nonm ember deposits and other Federal Reserve accounts. Excess reserves of member banks on June II4. were estimated to be approximately $930 million. Holdings of loans, discounts and advances decreased $15 million, while holdings of United States Government securities increased $21 million, the latter change reflecting increases of $70 million in notes and $17 million in certificates, and decreases of $1*5 million in bonds and $21 million in bills.
