BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF THE FEDERAL RES8RV]£ bVSTEM H.4.1 (For Immediate Release) April 12, 1951 CONDITION OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANKS Member Bank Reserves and Related Items During the week ended April 11, Member bank reserves increased $392 million. The principal changes supplying reserves were decreases of $300 million in Treasury deposits with Federal Reserve Banks, $21 million in Foreign deposits with Federal Reserve Banks, and $17 million in Treasury cash holdings, and an increase of $82 million in Reserve Bank credit. The principal offsetting change, was an increase of $28 million in Money in circulation. The increase of $82 million in Reserve Bank credit resulted from an increase of $172 million in U. S. Government securities, and decreases of $56 million in Float and $34 million in Loans, discounts and advances. Holdings of U. S. Government securities reflected an increase of $210 million in bonds, and decreases of $27 million in bills and $11 million in notes.
