BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF THE FEDERA LRESERVE SYSTEM H.4.1 (For Immediate Release) September 13> 1951 CONDITION OF THE FEDERA LRESERVE BAMS Member Bank Reserves and Related Items During the week ended September 12, Member bank reserves increased $342 million. The principal changes supplying reserves were an increase of $378 million in Reserve Bank credit, and a decrease of $46 million in Money in circulation. The principal offsetting changes were increases of $66 million in Treasury deposits with Federal Reserve Banks and $26 million in Other deposits with Federal Reserve Banks. The increase of $378 million in Reserve Bank credit resulted from increases of $267 million in Float, $83 million in Loans, discounts and advances, and $29 million in U. S. Government securities. Holdings of U. S. Government securities reflected an increase of $30 millio nin bills, and a decrease of $1 mil1ion in certificates.
