BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF THE FEDERA LRESERVE SYSTEM H.4.1 (For Immediate Release) October 25, 1951 CONDITION OF TEE FEDERA LRESERVE BANKS Member Bank Reserves and Related Items During the week ended October 24, Member ban kreserves decreased $235 million. The principal changes reducing reserves were a decrease of $276 million in Reserve Bank credit and an increase of $183 million in Treasury deposits with Federal Reserve Banks. The principal offsetting changes were decreases of $84 million in Money in circulation, $50 million in Foreign deposits with Federal Reserve Banks, $39 million in Other deposit swith Federal Reserve Banks, and an increase of $39 millio nin Gold stock. The decrease of $276 million in Reserv eBank credit resulted from decreases of $182 million in U. S. Government securities and $176 million in Float and an increase of $82 million in Loans, discounts an dadvances. Holdings of U. S. Government securities reflected a decrease of $182 million in Bills.
