BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF THE FEDERA LRESERVE SYSTEM H.4.1 (For Immediate Release) December 6, 1951 CONDITION OF THE FEDERA LRESERVE BANKS Member Bank Reserves and Related Items During the week ended December 5# Member ban kreserves increased $316 million. The principal changes supplying reserves were increases of $402 million in Reserv eBank credit and $49 million in gold stock ,and a decrease of $47 million in Treasur ydeposits with Federa lReserve Banks. The principal offsetting changes were increases of $149 million in Mone yin circulation, $21 million in Foreig ndeposits with Federa lReserve Banks, and $16 million in Other deposits with Federa lReserve Banks. The increase of $402 million in Reserv eBank credit resulted from an increase of $475 millio nin Loans, discounts an dadvances and a decrease of $74 million in Float .Holdings of U. S. Government securities reflect an increase of $23 million in bond sand a decrease of $23 million in certificates.
