BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF TH EFEDERAL RESERVE SYSTEM H.4.1 (Foi immediate Release) September 18, 1952 CONDITION OF THE FEDERA LRESERVE BANKS Member Bank Reserves and Related Items During the week ende dSeptember 17, Member ba nrkeserves increased $727 million. The principal changes supplying reserves were an increase of $377 million in Reserv eBank credit and decreases of $34 1million in Treasury deposits, with Federa lReserve Banks and $72 million in Mone yin circulation. The principal offsetting change swere increases of $3 2million in Foreig ndeposits with Federa lReserve Banks, $18 millio nin Other deposits with Federal Reserve Banks, and $14 million in Other F. R. accoun t(snet). The increase of $377 millio nin Reserv eBank credit resulted from increases of $51 1million in U .S. Government securities and $432 million in Float, and a decrease of $56 6million in Loans ,discounts an dadvances. Holdings of U. S. Government securities, which include $221 million certificates of indebtedness--special series, issued to th eFederal Reserve Banks, reflected an increase of $60 8million in certificate sand a decrease of $9 7million in bills.
