Banks H.4.1 For immediate release June 22, 1972 The average of daily figures for total reserves of member banks in creased $154 million in the latest statement week to $32,602 million. Required and excess reserves increased while member bank borrowings at Federal Reserve Banks declined. Major factors supplying reserves in the latest statement week were an increase in float and a decline in Treasury deposits with F. R. Banks. System Open Market operations absorbed $410 million reserves on a weekly average basis. Excess reserves averaged $211 million and exceeded borrowings by $154 million compared to $46 million in the previous week.
